| Sculpture Garden
Throughout the Kurá Hulanda Project are various individual
sculptures and sculpture gardens, which display the exquisite expressions
of Antillean, South American and African artists. Often these artworks
reveal the close affinity for African roots by the Antillean artists.
One of the more remarkable of these pieces is in the central plaza
of the museum, where a large bronze statue shows a woman's face
from one side and the continent of Africa from the other side, the
artist is Nel Simon of Curaçao.
The sculpture garden highlights works of Antillean artists including
Eduard H. Baetens, Yvette Brandt-Lesire, Hortense Brouwn, Yubi H.
Kirindongo, Carmen Lingegar-Naarden, Helen Martina, Saskia Pfaeltzer
and NeI Simon.
