Each courtyard and garden at Kurá
Hulanda has its own distinct personality.
The Village Square is the focal point of this eight-block village
a place for guests to linger, visit, meander, sip a coffee or cocktail,
day dream or dance under the stars. For those needing a large venue,
the Village Square is divine for a cocktail reception or seated dinner
under the stars.
The Curaçao Garden features herbs and fruits picked by the
chef daily. A secluded spot, this garden is a wonderful place to relax
and listen to the gentle fountain crested with a bronze sculpture
of a winged sprite.
The Sculpture Garden is the perfect place to read and admire the African
sculptures and contemporary mural on the mansion wall. An enclave
in the middle of Kurá Hulanda, this garden is resplendent for
receptions and events.
The Indian Marble Garden was transported from a Maharajah's home in
India to enliven the area between the Astrolab Observatory and the
Indian Bridal suite -- water glides over the smooth marble fountain
while tigers, elephants, eagles and other marble creatures look on.
Two exhibits -- one of astrolabes and the other sextants, flank the
fountain. This garden adjacent to the restaurant is a refined setting
for a reception or seated dinner.
The pool gardens are lush locations for private parties each conveying
a different atmosphere. The Eco Pond Pool Garden is lush and tropical
the perfect setting for a casual event. The Bolivar Pool Garden is
tucked away and elegant. A superb venue for a seated dinner or upscale
cocktail reception.
A sophisticated sound system (comprised of 10 zones) installed on
the grounds of the hotel, permits each of the courtyards to be suffused
with music specific to the mood of the courtyard. Similar to a DMX
system, the music arrives via direct satellite and is produced through
built-in micro speakers.
